How it works
Four steps, and only the first one is new- Add Emilecon to the job
Add Emilecon as a user on your InventoryBase account. Nothing changes in your template.
- Photograph every item
Inspect as you normally would: one clear photo per item, a close up of every defect, every meter dial and key.
- Every line written
Each description and condition is written only from what your photos show, room by room.
- You check and sign off
The report comes back with a short list of points to confirm. You read it and issue it under your name.

Writing rules
The same on every report- Photos only
- Nothing is described that a photograph does not show. Where a photo cannot settle it, the line says so.
- Not tested
- Appliances, boilers, extractors and sanitaryware are marked “Not tested” unless you record a test.
- Template text
- Placeholder and contradictory wording is rewritten or flagged, never left in the report.
- Meters and keys
- Readings are read from the dial photos and checked against what you entered; keys are counted from the photos.
- Your report
- Written inside your account and your template. Your clients see your report, under your name.
- Confidential
- Only the jobs you share are opened, under a written data processing agreement.

FAQs
Questions clerks ask about inventory report writing.
Who writes the report?
A working inventory clerk prepares the report and checks every line against your photographs before it comes back to you. Drafting software speeds up the first draft; nothing is returned until each line has been checked by hand.
How is this different from an inventory typing service?
A typist types what you dictate, so you still describe every item aloud on site and upload the audio. Here you only take the photographs. The descriptions and conditions are written from the photos, so there is no dictation and no audio minutes to pay for.
Do you work with clerks outside London?
Yes. The work is done from your photographs, so clerks and inventory firms anywhere in the UK can use it.
Does anyone from Emilecon visit the property?
No. You carry out the inspection as you normally would. The report is written from your photographs and any notes you add on site.
Which software do you work in?
InventoryBase. You add Emilecon as a user on your account, so the report stays in your template and your system. If you use different software, say so on the form.
How many photographs does it need?
At least one clear photograph for every item, plus a close up of every defect, meter dial and key. The more the photos show, the less there is to confirm.
Who is responsible for the finished report?
You are. You inspected the property, you read the report and you issue it under your own name. The list of points to confirm tells you exactly where to look before you do.
What does it cost?
Each report is priced by property size and turnaround. Pilot rates are agreed with each clerk or firm before the first report, and nothing is charged without that agreement.
Emilecon carries out inventories too. Will you approach my clients?
No. Reports written for you are your work for your clients. Their details are used only to write the report, under a written data processing agreement, and Emilecon never contacts them.
